They will also be able to identify types of disasters, to explain their implications on communities and the municipality and they will understand the purposes of an Emergency Services Division in a municipality.

Course content

The qualifying learner will be able to:

  • Knowledge and insight into the Compensation for Occupational Injury and Disease Act (COIDA).
  • Conduct a security threat assessment in a defined operational area.
  • Identify types of disasters within the context of risk management so as to explain their implications on communities and the municipality.
  • Explain the effects of chronic illness and other contemporary health issues that affect work productivity.
  • Understand the purpose of an Emergency Services Division in a municipality.
